HI, MY NAME IS ALYSSA DESROCHES (LCSW, LICSW)

AuDHD Mom,Licensed Therapist, and Owner of Seed of Truth Counseling LLC

You’re doing your best to hold everything together. Your work, your relationships, your creative drive. But it can feel like your brain is running in ten directions at once. You’re tired of masking, pretending, second-guessing yourself, and feeling misunderstood.

I will help you sort through what’s truly yours versus what’s been projected onto you. We’ll build self-trust and reconnect with the parts of you that have been overlooked, dismissed, or silenced along the way.

My approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and holistic. We are focused on helping you move out of survival mode and into a more grounded, authentic, and self-compassionate way of being. Whether you’re dealing with burnout, ADHD or Autism, grief, identity changes, or relationship stress, therapy with me is a place where all parts of you get to show up.

I don’t believe therapy is about “fixing” you. Therapy is about getting curious, finding what works for your brain, and learning to support yourself in ways that actually work. We might use reflection, body awareness, mindfulness, or creative techniques to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. My goal is to help you feel more like you again. More clear, calm, and connected to what matters most.

Our work together is flexible, collaborative, and real. We’ll go at your pace and make space for humor, honesty, and the full messiness of being human.

A PERSONAL JOURNEY

Navigating Neurodiversity

Over the years, I’ve lived a lot of life right alongside my work. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in leadership, serving as a supervisor, director, and eventually a VP. I know what it’s like to lead teams, manage constant demands, and balance the pressure to perform with the realities of life outside of work. If I had kept going, I certainly would have advanced even further. (Well, technically I did. I then became the CEO of my own company).

I’ve been learning and growing through it all. Building relationships (and and messing some), finding my life partner, becoming a mom, facing secondary infertility, and raising two kids while navigating my own AuDHD diagnosis. Like many of my clients (driven, high-achieving professionals who want & have done everything themselves, bearing the burden of every role) I’ve had to learn how to make sense of parenting, partnership, leadership, emotions, and my neurodivergent brain. It hasn’t been neat or linear, but it’s been deeply human.

What I’ve learned, both as a therapist and as a leader, is that thriving doesn’t come from pushing harder or pretending everything’s fine. It comes from finding strategies that actually work for your brain, cultivating self-trust, and learning to quiet the constant mental noise. Learning how to scale back…do less, use my time strategically. Make time for activities that actually rejuvenate me, so I truly can be the best human I can in all of these roles.

That’s the work I do with my clients. Through evidence-based approaches, lived experience, and a grounded, relatable style, I help high-performing professionals and burnt out parents find clarity, balance, and a way of living that feels more sustainable. A path to healing that is actually transformative.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

I earned my Master’s in Social Work back in 2012 and hit the ground running. My early years were spent doing outreach and in-home therapy. Meeting people where they were, whether that was in schools, community centers, methadone clinics, or their living rooms. Over the years, I’ve worked in just about every setting you can imagine: outpatient opioid treatment, psychiatric/detox units, and intensive outpatient programs for substance use recovery.

I moved into leadership roles at nearly all of my jobs. I have run a group practice. Managed a methadone clinic, foster care program, and an IOP for substance use disorders. I have mentored and supervised experienced & new therapists. Along the way, I picked up my independent license in Massachusetts (2017), then added Connecticut and Rhode Island staggered after. I completed my EMDR training in 2023 (you can check out my EMDRIA listing here).

But in true neurodivergent fashion, I don’t sit still for long. After years of building programs for other people, I decided it was time to build something for myself. So, I struck out on my own, started my private practice, and became my own damn boss.
